My background as an artist makes me disinclined to produce a perfect rendition of what I see before me but rather portray an impression of how the landscape feels. And so, by moving my camera slightly to create a soft blur, I try to obscure much of the distracting detail on the beach and along the coastline. The dark, oppressive cloud, heavy with the promise of rain seems to be about to shroud the delicate lines of the horizon. The mood is dark and sombre with little relief.
