"Up at 5am on a still April morning to capture this moment of peace and tranquility in the Bosham Creek. I walked along Shore Road and sat on an old wooden jetty for an hour waiting for the light to strengthen. Bosham can feel a very spiritual place at first light, and a calmness came over me that I have never experienced before. As I watched the tide creep in the first gentle rays of sunshine hit the spire of the Saxon church, and the whole of Bosham was perfectly reflected in what had become a millpond. The setting has changed little in the last one thousand years, except for the church spire which has been there for only five hundred.
It amazes me that this constantly moving body of sea water can appear so calm at the surface and provide the stage for such a fleeting moment of magic. What a beautiful gift from the sea, and how unusual for not a single bird to land on my millpond." Luke Whitaker
