Sunday 3rd November | 2pm
Join us for a taster dip in the beautiful peaceful waters of Chichester Harbour. Time and again researchers have discovered that proximity to water strengthens the positive effects that the landscape has on our wellbeing. In recent years the healing power of wild swimming for the mind, body and soul has become proven. We will call it dipping on this occasion as the point is not how far or how fast. Just a few minutes in cold water, being completely surrounded by nature, focusing solely on the present will wake up your every sense, soothe your mind and invigorate your body. Cold water dipping reduces pain, boosts the immune system, boosts metabolism and fires endorphins through the body and comes with an added sense of camaraderie and joie de vivre.
Margaret Soraya swims all year round in the Highlands of Scotland, having been known to break the ice to access the water. Come along and try it for yourself and be guided on how to use your mind, breathing and focus to fully embrace the water. Have some fun, feel alive and enjoy a hot chocolate with us afterwards!
Join us at West Wittering Beach at 2pm to hear a short talk by Margaret about the connection between wild swimming, nature, health and creativity followed by a swim together as the tide comes in. [High Tide 15:36 | 4.2 metres]
