"It's not often that you get two William Fife designed classics racing quite as close as these two yachts. This photograph was taken on the last day of the Royal Yacht Squadron's Fleet Review Regatta in June 2015. The yacht closest to camera, Mariquita, has a reef in the mainsail due to the gusty conditions. This has allowed the other yacht Kentra to catch her up on the beat to the final mark. The conditions for photographing were pretty tough as we were being blown around in our rib as we tried to manoeuvre into the perfect position. Thankfully both yachts were going about the same speed and maintaining their position so finally we were able to get the composition with the sun shining, no wake from the rib and the bowman on Mariquita doing his work on the foredeck. What made the picture all the more special was that the helmsman on Kentra had formerly owned Mariquita."
