"Moonbeam IV is one of the great competitors on the European circuit. Designed by William Fife she was launched on the Clyde in 1914. Skippered by Mikaël Créac'h she has won many of the classic regattas including the Panerai Trophy. On this particular afternoon she was caught out in light winds as she neared the finish line off Cannes during the Regates Royale. The start of the race had been delayed so it was early evening by the time she finished. Thankfully there were very few other boats in the Bay of Cannes as she ghosted over the line with all her sails up including her big spinnaker. By manoeuvring our rib onto her port side we opened up all her sails. I especially like the way the jib sails are picking up the light while the mainsail is in semi shadow."
