August 19th, 2021 is a day I shan't forget. Two hours of solid rain preceded the making of this photograph and I was glad of every drop of it. There can be very few other more thrilling moments than hard, first light bathing the landscape after heavy rain. Not a single molecule of dust hangs in the air and as a consequence, the light is unlike any other light I know. In my experience, this breathtaking razor sharp light lasts perhaps no more than 10 minutes. There is nowhere else I would wish to be other than in anticipation of this stunning theatrical light. The geometric shapes play an immense part as they stretch across this marvellous, broad landscape. Darts, triangles, diagonals and other multiple geometric forms deliver some thrilling relationships all brought to life with my much loved post-storm light. Charlie Waite, September 2021
